Who we are

What we collect

When you request an estimate we collect your name, phone number, and optionally your email address and postcode. We also collect the details of your vehicle — the registration you give us and the information the DVLA returns for it — along with your description of the damage and any photographs you upload.

We do not collect payment details through this website, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Why we use it

To prepare and send your quote, to carry out and manage the repair, and to keep you updated on progress. That is our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you made and, once you accept a quote, performance of our contract with you. We keep records of completed work to meet our accounting and legal obligations.

Vehicle lookups

When you enter a registration, we send it to the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service and, where enabled, the DVSA MOT history service, to retrieve publicly available details of the vehicle. We do not send them any of your personal details.

Who sees it

Only us, plus the suppliers who host this site, store our files and deliver our email. If your repair is an insurance claim we will share what is needed with your insurer or their engineer. We do not sell your data, and we do not pass it to marketers.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted within twelve months. Records of completed work, including quotes and invoices, are kept for six years to meet HMRC requirements. Photographs are deleted with the job record unless you have given us permission to use them as examples of our work.

Photographs of your car

We photograph repairs as a record of the work. We will not publish an identifiable photograph of your vehicle — including its registration — on this website or on social media without asking you first.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not legally required to keep it. Email info@carcarebodywork.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This website uses a single cookie, and only for staff signing in to the job board. There are no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The map on our contact page is embedded from Google, which may set its own cookies when it loads.
